Leaving Jackson, on to Idaho

We got up early on our last day in Teton Village, tried to go moose spotting but came up empty. We had smoothies in Jackson before heading over the teton pass into Idaho, heading west again. We stayed in Boise that night, dinner downtown then Laura met up with two KKG friends who live with their families in Boise. Today is drive through inner Idaho, north, through McCall and Lewiston and eventually into Post Falls to meet up with Heins, McKinnons and Browns for the weekend.

More Tetons

We had a full day in the Tetons. 9am horse ride, hiked and explored the Rockefeller Preserve thanks to a tip from Aunt Dana, and dinner in Jackson at an organic restaurant - we even attempted to see the Wild West shoot out, but it was too noisy for Lucy :)

Made it to Tetons

We left Yellowstone and drove south to the Tetons. We had lunch at the Jackson Lake Lodge, went to the top of Signal Mountain and stopped by Jenny Lake and Chapel of the Transfiguration beforearriving  in Teton Village. Staying at the Hostel for the next two days.

Muddy Scary Pots

Hiked the artists' paint pot and it wasn't Lucy's favorite. Saw lower and upper falls, and spent time near Yellowstone Lake. 

Boiling River

Checked out the Roosevelt arch and then hiked 1/2 mile to Boiling River where hot springs run into the Gardiner River making it like a hot tub!

 

Yellowstone

We stayed in the Mammoth Cabins the first two nights in the park. We had a view of the hot springs from our cabin.

Bears!

Within the first hour in the park we saw elk, about seven of them, and a mom bear with her two cubs! Amazing. 

Entering Yellowstone

Bozeman was a great one night spot. Drove through Gallatin then stopped in West Yellowstone at a zoo-like discovery museum to see bears and wolves up close. Now to Mammoth in the park for a few nights.

Departure for Wyoming

We started our road trip on Tues the 13th, with a stop at Steamboat Rock State Park to swim and play with the cousins for a few hours. First night spent in Spokane - thanks to the Lembergs for their hospitality and sharing their toys!
