Summer Time

Summer time is great!! We (the collective family) love the long days and sunshine. We had a BBQ last weekend with some friends. We're off on a road trip to spend a long weekend in Whistler. And, we have a great 4th of July celebration planned here in Edmonds next weekend, which includes but is not limited to a kids parade that Lucy will be participating in with her dad.

Happy Father's Day

Lucy and mom did a little photo shoot (thanks Misty) so dad would have some nicely framed photos for the office (a few are included below). On Father's Day, we took a trip to Discovery Park, the largest city park in Seattle, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Then, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Brown's house for dinner with the rest of the Brown family.

Dad's Day

No, I don't mean Father's Day. Today was a day for Dads to take our kids for a few hours, give the Moms some time off and just hang out with other Dads. Lucy's friends Anna, Joe and Dillon came over to watch the Mariners game and play with their friends.

Change Happens Quickly

Every week (and maybe even day) Lucy learns something new. Everything she can get her hands on goes in the mouth. She just discovered she has feet/toes and this keeps her happy for at least a 1/2 hour....haha. She loves watching Scout and touching her mom/dad's faces. She went on her first boat ride to Kingston on Memorial Day Weekend and although at first didn't like the life jacket, fell asleep within mintues of starting to cruise.

Happy Mother's Day

It's mid-May and we have lots to celebrate: 1st mother's day, Spring finally arriving in Seattle, the start of the local Edmonds Saturday market, and Lucy's 4 month doctor's appointment. She's in the 95% in weight at 15 lbs and 97% in height at 26". We're not sure where she gets the height from....all in all, she's a healthy little girl.

Derby Day at the Myers

On Saturday, the Myers held their first annual Derby Day Party (as in Kentucky Derby). This year was a trial run (a small gathering) and based on the success, there will definitely be second. Start looking now for your Derby attire...next year there will be more mint juleps, bourbon balls, and derby pie; a "red carpet" runway; hat decorating station; and everyone's favorite, more options for betting. Lucy spent most of her time with Will playing on the floor. Hope you enjoy some of the pics below.

Everyone On Board

Two weekends ago, Lucy took her first train trip (and first overnight trip) to Portland, OR to visit her aunt Heather. Her mom, dad, and grandma Karen walked to the train station from their home in Edmonds and after 4.5 hours arrived in DT Portland. Lucy decided since she was already covering a lot of "firsts" on this trip, so she thought she'd one more -- rolling over -- and rolled over a few times from her tummy to her back during the weekend away. Lucy also met a new friend, Beck, while she was out of town. Today, Lucy is 14 weeks old.
